Anchor
A mug left where someone set it down.
The shape still pressed into a cushion.
Unpacking
Small objects hold a person longer than we expect. Not the photographs or the keepsakes, the things we chose on purpose. The ordinary ones nobody thought about. A mug on a table. A coat on a hook. The dent in a chair that has not lifted.
They stay exactly as they were left and the room says the same thing every time you walk past. Some people move them within a week. Some cannot touch them for years. Neither is wrong and there is no correct week to do it.
What small detail from that time has stayed with you?
Touchpoint
Find one ordinary thing in your home that has not moved since. Do not tidy it. Put your hand on it for a moment, then leave it exactly where it is.
You do not have to tell anyone. It is enough that you and your heart know it is real.
With gentleness,
Ruthie
